The weekend of the 16th ~18th February 2018 saw the 30 day Impact swim training program run it's full course for coach Kyle Dougan and the swimmers of the Black Sands Swim Club, based on the Island of St Vincent's in the Caribbean.
Again, I had been working remotely with Kyle, as I did with Greek coach Christos Ntour and his swimmer Demetres Chatziantonakis, as reported on earlier.
At the CGM Invitational Swimming Championships on the 16th ~ 18th Feb 2018, Kyle's swimmers established 7 new St Vincent and the Grenadine Swimming Federation (SVGSF) records, as well as his team posting a host of new best times for themselves.
The new SVGSF records were...
- Shane Cadogan (50m Fly)
- Mya DeFreitas (200m Back)
- Alex Joachim (200m Breast)
- Mya DeFreitas (200m Free)
- Alex Joachim (200m Free)
- Alex Joachim (100m Butterfly)
- Dillon Gooding (100m Butterfly)
The time reductions his swimmers achieved on the 30 day Impact program was in my mind, the stand out justification of Kyle's decision to contact me. For example: 14 year old Alex Joachim's 4.6 sec drop from 2:10 ~ 2.05 for the 200m freestyle and 12 year old Mya Defreitas, who reduced her 200m medley time from 2:55.75 to 2:49.98 a reduction of some 5.77 seconds.
Remember, these time drops were achieved off a very much reduced program (distance wise) combined with an extremely high training velocity at every session.
Good Jobs
